Targeted Massage Therapy Treatments: I do not do full-body massages. I specialize in working with people who are in pain or trying to manage their chronic conditions. I do muscle-specific treatments to address issues. Every massage appointment with me begins with a conversation. It's time for us to connect and for me to find out what's happening with your body and how I can best treat you during that day's session. Often times, I customize the treatment to combine several different approaches, like swedish massage, neuromuscular therapy, a myofascial release. I don't do a standard, pre-determined massage routine, so no two treatments are the same! While I communicate the level of undressing that would be most helpful for me to work on you, I can work with any level of undressing that you are comfortable with. Many effective treatments can happen while you are completely clothed! During EVERY massage, you can be assured proper and secure draping, as well as complete privacy while you are getting on and off the treatment table.
No-tipping policy: I do not accept tips. I feel that my practice is more aligned with the goals of a clinical office instead of a spa, so tipping does not apply here!
All-inclusive pricing: I will not "upsell" you. The price of my treatment includes everything, from customized music, aromatherapy with your choice of essential oils, and various treatment modalities. The only thing that will cost more is if you choose to add more time to your treatment (if possible, depending on my schedule).
Charges for hand-on treatment time only: The "clock" starts for your treatment when you are on the table. I do not charge for intake or follow-up time. Because of this, total appointment times can run 15 to 30 minutes longer than booked treatment time, so please plan accordingly. For example, a 60-minute treatment appointment can last up to 90 minutes.
Children Welcome!: Teaching children the importance of healthy self-care is so valuable. I welcome children in the treatment room while you are receiving a massage. Children under 16 are not permitted to wait alone in the waiting room. There are two chairs in my office for children to comfortably sit and occupy themselves with drawing, books, or electronics (please note that the treatment room is often dimly lit, so their visibility may be limited). I often see children curiously watching the work that I'm doing and I happily answer any questions they have. In addition to simply being in the room with their parent, children have the option to receive massage as well! Separate pediatric appointments are also available.
